What happens to children effects us all. Children must be prepared for the future. The family is the first area of impact on the child, beyond the family, the community has a role to play in their development.
There are approximately 73 million children under the age of 18 in the United States. The economic status of a family is clearly linked to the well being of these children. The mission of the Community Learning Center is to develop resources and provide a setting for education, recreation, social events, human services, and life-long learning activities to enhance the lives of community members and build a healthier community.
We believe we have a responsibility to develop all children to grow with and understand technology, globalization, and basic skills to contribute to our regional commerce and economy.
As an organization founded on enhancing community members lives, Comstock Community Center furthers its mission by the creation of the Community Learning Center. The Community Learning Center improves and further develops the local community and its members.
With a loan offered by the USDA and the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, the Comstock Community Center was able to open the Community Learning Center, which offers expanded and additional services. All programs are designed to provide an affordable, safe, fun, and active learning environment for Comstock community children.
